Adventure Training

Our cadets get a chance to try their hand at some challenging outdoor activities.

 Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme

As the Duke of Edinburgh is our Air Commodore in chief you expect us to be involved with the scheme - in fact we are the largest operator of it.
Once cadets are 14 years old, they can enrol in this scheme - most of our activities which the cadets take part in count towards the award.

 Mountain Activities

The ATC has two outdoor activity centres based in Llanbedr (Wales) and Windermere (Lake District).

From these centres cadets get to take part in a variety of activities such as hill walking, climbing, abseiling, canoeing and mountain biking.

The wild country areas of the UK are the perfect place to practice skills that cadets learn in their training.

Fieldcraft

Fieldcraft training is a great way to learn new skills in an exciting environment. Alongside the basic skills, cadets also learn about leadership and basic survival skills.
This is one of the most popular activities we offer to cadets.
